Summer festival volunteering opportunities

BridgefestOnce again this year SEND will be heavily involved with both Bridgfest & Sneinton Festival, bringing our specific brand of interactive visual arts and music along to add to the festivities!

As a result we’re currently looking for people to volunteer both around these events and on the days to help out with the running and get involved with what we’re doing.

Sneinton Festival : 7th July

Bridgfest : 12th August

If you fancy coming along and getting involved, whether you can offer support for the creative arts, want to help with setting up, looking after the SEND tent, getting involved in the activities and generally having a fun, relaxed time then let us know.

West Park

West ParkBetween November 2011 and February 2012 we delivered sessions involving graffiti and music in conjunction with the Nottinghamshire Youth Service at West Park in West Bridgford, Nottingham.

The focus of the sessions was alcohol awareness. We engaged the young people who were in the park on Friday and Saturday evenings with directed graffiti painting, creative art and music making sessions whilst speaking to them about their experiences with alcohol and getting them to think and talk about the effects it has on their lives.

The sessions were a great success with the young people enjoying the creative aspects and getting involved in conversations with us about all aspects of alcohol use and abuse. The work produced by the young people during these evenings reflected the theme.

The sessions were well received and we will be conducting similar evenings in Ruddington and Keyworth during Spring 2012 dealing with alcohol and drug awareness.

Hogarth Project

SEND ProjectBetween [dates] SEND were involved in an evolving media project based on the art of Hogarth.
